Several major manufacturers mobilized large numbers of employees during the holiday. Samsung Display Vietnam Co. Ltd. at Yen Phong Industrial Park had about 11,200 employees on duty, while Samsung Electronics Vietnam Co. Ltd. at Yen Phong I Industrial Park deployed around 6,000 workers.

Workers putting in overtime at night during the Lunar New Year holiday may receive at least 490% of their regular wages.

Fuyu Precision Technology Co. Ltd. at Quang Chau Industrial Park had more than 5,800 employees working through the break. Fukang Technology Co. Ltd. at Que Vo Industrial Park mobilised about 2,300 workers, while Luxshare-ICT Vietnam Co. Ltd., also at Quang Chau Industrial Park, had around 1,600 employees on shift. Hana Micron Vina Co. Ltd. at Van Trung Industrial Park assigned approximately 1,300 workers during the holiday period.

Most employees worked from the 28th day of the final lunar month until the end of the third day of the Lunar New Year. A small number of companies extended operations until the fifth day of the holiday.

Firms maintaining operations during Tet were largely in the electronics sector, Bac Ninh’s key manufacturing industry and a major contributor to the province’s export value.

A representative of the Bac Ninh Department of Home Affairs said that alongside sustaining production, companies are paying attention to the welfare of employees working during the holiday.

In addition to overtime pay of at least 300% of regular wages in line with regulations and full insurance coverage, many firms offered additional cash bonuses, “lucky money” at the start of the year, shuttle bus services and upgraded meals with more diverse menus than usual. Some organized on-site visits and New Year greetings at factories.
