According to the provincial Plant Protection Department (Department of Agriculture and Environment), APHIS granted the approval after guiding and supporting Vifoco through the application process for exporting lychees to the United States.

This marks the first such facility in northern Vietnam to gain U.S. approval.

The decision opens significant opportunities for both Vifoco and Bac Giang Province, particularly for the 2025 lychee harvest.

Exporters can now pack their fruit directly in Bac Giang instead of transporting it to southern Vietnam, cutting costs, reducing transit time and improving product quality.

In addition to Vifoco’s U.S.-approved facility, provincial authorities are currently inspecting and supervising 39 other lychee packing facilities for exports to markets such as Japan and China.
